Because this kind of creativity shouldn't be necessary, but it is.

Has LJ turned evil for Halloween?
Oct. 31st, 2008 10:23 pmIs anyone else having trouble getting LJ-cuts to work properly in their posts? I've been trying to do a picspam for hours now and I can't make it work. It's not like I've never done it before. It shouldn't be this bloody hard! I think I'm getting a migraine.
I'm going to get some dinner. If my head feels better maybe I'll try again.
Edit: It worked! It worked! I took vail_kagami's advice and made two posts alongside, one in HTML, in which I typed in the beginning and end code for an LJ-cut, and one in Rich Text, into which I put the post (text and pictures) and formatted it. Then I switched the Rich Text post to HTML(this is important!), cut the material out of that post, and pasted it into the HTML post inside the LJ-cut code. It worked! It worked!
Um, did I mention that it worked? *silly grin*

Please don't hate me ...
Mar. 15th, 2008 02:53 pmTo Friends, communities, all you awesome fanfic authors, and anyone else who gives a flying fig (hope that's not considered obscene ;) ) :
Yes, I've been reading your posts! No, I haven't been responding that much, darn it :( I keep planning to go back and comment properly, and then I don't ... no good excuses, really. No natural (or unnatural) disasters, exploding toasters, cats taking over the world ...
Just feeling a little depressed, and a lot overwhelmed. I just watched the third season Doctor Who "42," though, which kind of helped put things in perspective. There's nothing quite like seeing somebody having a worse day than yours, is there? Let's hear it for schadenfreude! :)
In fact, I feel so much better, I'm going to write out some New LJ's Resolutions. I hereby resolve to:
1. Continue organizing Friends Page filters to make it easier to keep up with reading it. (There goes one excuse.)
2. Continue organizing "bookmark posts" for Friends Page to make it easier to keep track of what I've read, commented on, etc. (And another one.)
3. Comment immediately, if not sooner, on fics and the like, even if it's something like, "this is way cool, I'll come back to comment intelligently later when my brain is working." (Bonus points for actually going back and doing that.)
4. Post more often, and with less content, to keep in the habit and connected. (And to fill up everyone elses' Friends Pages with annoying drivel, mwaah hah hah! ;) )
5. Finish crackish Torchwood fanfic and post, already.
6. Duck flying tomatoes ;) (see #5)
Off to start on #1.
