I'm a dedicated ailurophile with three adorable and spoiled cats at home. I have worked with, and visited, as many other felines as I can in shelters and rescues for ten years (basically acting as a social worker for cats). I also worked with the publicity departments of the shelters by taking pictures of animals up for adoption, in the course of which I learned to love dogs almost as much as I love cats.

I went on to further my education and then worked at an animal hospital for about a year (as a kennel worker and sometimes beginning veterinary assistant) until I got a shoulder injury that sidelined me from most work in that area. Another ten years later, after constant chronic shoulder problems, I got a decent diagnosis of the problem and surgery in July of 2014. As of December 2014, I am recuperating and hope to start working with animals again some time next year.

I'm also crazy for nature in general, and photography. The two go well together (if expensively). I've taken part in several wild animal rescues over the last few years, and hope to join an organization that does that regularly when my shoulder is sufficiently recovered.

I've written a few fanfics in the Whoniverse fandom, and hope to write more when I get a better handle on the dreaded writers' block.
