A Leap of Faith

The latest episode of the PBS show Nature, "An Original DUCKumentary" aired here on Sunday night.
The North American wood duck nests in a tree hole, sometimes as high as sixty feet up. Often the nest is located over water, but not always. Either way, the day-old ducklings don't get to walk out. They have to jump.
Here's a clip from the episode, in which a nervous duckling, with her mother's encouragement, takes a leap of faith.
In this next clip, from the BBC's Planet Earth, an entire brood of Mandarin ducklings (a species closely related to wood ducks) takes to the air.
