This meme seems to be all over the place, but I found it at this post on Wendymr's LJ. I'm going to comment there and link to this post, if I can make it work, that is ... Done.

This list of 100 books was published by the National Endowment for the Arts for the "Big Read" program. Copy it (I'd suggest into a Word or other text file first) and post it at your LJ, marked as follows:

Ones you’ve read in bold.
Ones you intend to read in italics.
Ones you loved underlined.
Ones for which you’ve seen one or more movie or TV adaptations in [brackets]. (Some sites include this. I’m not sure how it’s relevant, but what the heck.)

Additional Comments:
*I read these for a book discussion group: 1 and 31.
*These were assigned in high school or college classes: 5, 10, 22, 28, 43, 57, 70, and 81.
*I read these over a summer vacation from school. One each. 2 and 52.

Totals: Read 31. Intend to read 4. Loved 7. Seen adaptations of 30.
(A lot more books that I've read, etc. are not on this list! They aren't supposed to be the best, are they?)

By the way, is anyone else finding it impossible to get the Rich Text Editor to work for posting? Did I miss something? It's getting tedious writing everything out in Hypertext. *grumble*

Edited 9-5-12, to add: I've come to prefer html. The Rich Text Editor changes html it doesn't need to, which makes it really difficult to change it for good reasons, and is constantly developing bugs. There are plenty of sites to learn various html codes, and you can get used to the simple ones very quickly.
