Six Icon Meme

I finally got this to work. Finally.

This is ganked from azriona, who ganked it from wiggiemomsi. Here's how it works:



1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon glee.

(azriona got a little excited and picked eight, so -- what the hell -- I did all of them.)




redscharlach is one of my favorite iconers for her twisted sense of humor. When I saw her take on the horrifying Torchwood episode "Countrycide" -- bug-eyed Ianto as Doctor Who's Bad Wolf? -- I had to have it.




I love the subtlety and depth of this one, by blackicons -- the black-and-white coloring, and the softness, contrasting with the playfulness of the words and the basketball hoop in the background. It's comforting as well, a depiction of Torchwood in happier times.




hexiva iconed this after it was posted at fanficrants. Yes, somebody actually wrote that :) Although, as I sit here typing this in MS Word, those "annoying red lines" are everywhere. What do you mean, "iconed" isn't a word?




I'm a fan of both Coupling and Doctor Who, and this icon, by skadi_snowshoe, combines the two. (Appropriately, since Steven Moffat created the first and has written for, and now become showrunner of, the second.) I really like the coloring, too.




I liked the randomness of this quote from Martha Jones' MySpace blog, iconed by la_esmeralda_. (But I can't help wondering who writes blogs for fictional characters.)




Burn Gorman's not a bad-looking guy, but apparently he's really hard to icon well. I looked at a lot of them, trying to find one that did Owen justice, before coming across this one by miss_jaffacake, which is also beautifully colored.




Another from fanficrants . rainbowpubes responded to my request for an icon of this quote in which a reviewer completely missed the point of slashfic. And it's such a lovely shade of purple, too!




And with this one we've come full circle, back to redscharlach . Torchwood's Captain John, by way of Amy Winehouse.

Hey, icons that don't "say anything" can still say plenty :) Too bad about the plus account limitations, though. Although you can have too many icons. Sometimes I spend much too much time thinking about which one to use!

I used to do that with the icons I do have, but I've managed to narrow it down to just the emotions I use most. Like the giggly one - it also serves a double purpose as my "bandom OTP" icon. :D

Ah, okay. That does make more sense. I was thinking a shirt MADE of salmon, which .... eww. If it helps, the towel is actually closer to being salmon-colored in real life. And I did kind of try a puppy sweater on him the other day just to see if it fit. :x

I hate to admit I'd forgotten entirely about this meme - so what a treat to find it waiting for me, and all these icons I'd forgotten about too - and I still find them all excellent. :) You have fantastic taste in iconage, clearly. :)

I'm glad you enjoyed it :) So did I! Once I figured out how Rich Text Editor was screwing up, and how to fix it in HTML, that is.

I went a little hog wild last night, and uploaded a bunch more icons, and replaced others. Yes, I do have great taste in icons, thank you :) But I'm awfully obsessed!
