rose_cat: (halloween watch out)

Are you prepared?

Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] edge_chan's post at [livejournal.com profile] randompictures. (I do hope it's become a meme.)

1. Go to Craigslist.

2. Go to your current city.

3. Go to the "Free" section.

4. Fifth item down is your weapon against the zombie horde.

Ready, set, GO!

...Mine is "FREE BROKEN CONCRETE." Better than the thirteen wood pallets I got over at [livejournal.com profile] randompictures, I guess. Should I try to make a fort, or just pile it up and chuck it at them?

I got, "Total gym ultra Work out bench" which might have a use and some of the pieces look fairly deadly if I've got the slow shambling type of zombie.

I suppose you could try convincing it to work out until it falls apart.

I got a Kids outdoor playset. That could come in handy break it up and get some useful pieces. Lots of interesting things on my local list. 5 gallon pickle buckets, spell books and depends?!?

Or, use it like a trap with those annoying people who won't shut up. Where you see a junglegym, zombies see a smorgasbord.

Craigslist, "All Services Offered" section:

Zombie Daycare and Tutoring. Serving all ages. Special rates for students with high IQ test scores. All of our employees love children.

Maybe if you're attacked by a horde of zombie children?

I got "Free PVC pipe, conduit, aluminum pipe, and small roofing pieces".

I win!

[identity profile] rose-cat.livejournal.com 2012-10-31 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
Materials suitable for sturdy buildings and weapons of all kinds? Yes, I think you do win!

You have time for one final shot.

Ooh! This is the first meme in ages that's actually titillated my tush. Looks like I'll be fighting the Zombies with THIS. Not sure if I'll be using it as an actual weapon or just hiding under it.

TMI TMI TMI

I don't think hiding under that desk would be much help at all. It doesn't look like it even has a back!

I just had a look to see if I could get anything more useful:

We have over a dozen sturdy banana boxes (from grocery stores) and larger moving boxes which we have used in our move from another state. . All boxes are used but are clean, with sturdy top and bottom and handles cut in sides. We also have many shoe boxes to give away.

OK, so I can contribute these, a bunch of broken concrete, and thirteen wood pallets. If you have the screwdrivers for desk assembly -- whoa, hold on. Are the screws included?

Never mind. I have more screws and nails and stuff in the garage than I know what to do with. Also screwdrivers if we need them. (It's not cheating if you can carry it in your pockets.) So we should be able to make a decent fort, and have some firewood left over to make torches and fend them off. Especially if we let fragbert and abcdefghijkimmi in on it; they got more pallets over at randompictures. A couple of people over there have doors, too.

I'm not sure what to do with the shoe boxes, though. I guess we could make kindling out of some of the wood and keep it in them. Or use it to hold smaller pieces of concrete to use as missiles. Do you have pantyhose on? We could make slings!

This is more fun than it has any right to be :D In fact, it's starting to sound like a particularly cracky Torchwood fic. Interested?

How was your Halloween, by the way? Did you do anything Halloweeny?

Glad to hear that you are well-prepared for Zombie time. I will count on you to protect me with your Craig's List awesomeness while I am hiding under my desk. :)

Well, that looks like it was one fun Halloween party! Love the Dalmatian and the Chick Magnet :D

Did you tell Captain Jack you wanted the other one?

[identity profile] karaokegal.livejournal.com 2012-11-08 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It was actually a pretty low-key Halloween. It was raining and the Giant's Victory Parade earlier in the day took a lot of energy out of the usual party-goers.

If the other Captain Jack ever shows up for Halloween, that would be awesome.
