Today I got an email newsletter from the San Diego Global Wildlife Conservancy, regarding Bai Yun's sixth cub, born at the San Diego Zoo on July 29 2012. (My initial post about it is here).

The cub is a month old now. Its sex can't be determined yet and it is still unnamed. (In accordance with Chinese tradition, pandas don't get their names until they are 100 days old.)

Its first exam was a week ago. It checked out as healthy and with a good weight of 1-1/2 pounds.

Also, here are some bonus videos I came across.

#1: the first look the staff got of the cub, on July 30 2012, when Bai Yun finally stepped out for the first time since the birth (she was thirsty).

#2: a silly music video of Bai Yun with her cub, from August 7.

And #3: Bai Yun's previous cub at his sixth checkup, from October 2009.

In November 2009, this cub was named Yun Zi, which means "son of cloud." (His mom's name, Bai Yun, means "white cloud.")
