Oh, I had one hen who went broody on me, a good laying hen and a good brooder, I gave 9 eggs. She got off them and the other hens saw her nest and said "HEY! A NEST! LET'S GET CRACKEN ON LAYING MORE! BA-GOK!" I put in caps because those fuckers laid 8 more in 1 hour on that nest alone. She hatched out 10, 7 have made it to 10-11 weeks. I can't remember their hatching date. They are in the main chicken pen (which we expanded to over 2800 square feet) so they are going to survive. My cousin gave me 3 more hens and a rooster. He will replace the rooster we currently have when he's old enough. If there are roosters with the babies I hatched, they won't survive for long. I won't even grow them enough to let people have them. I'm just going to snap their fucking necks and put them under plants. I have had it with roosters. Over 30 in 2 years, probably closer to 40. That's half the birds I've had survive to maturity. Roosters are supposed to be 3/10 in a clutch. Mine have been 3/5 most clutches.

My pekins will meet a similar fate when the drakes show themselves. They are fatted up that I can cook them if I wanted. But, I'm going to discover the males and give them to my cousin as promised. Dad will get at least 1 duck. A hen I think, because the meat will be milder. I want to try duck. You know I can't stand to eat my birds, but I want to try duck I'm so disgusted with them.

Mmm, soup and quackers. Hllllahhhh *Homer mouth drool*
